Origin:The Preservation and Rebirth of a Thousand-Year-Old Lifang System

The Root of Cultural Heritage—The Millennial Echo of the Lifang System
The name"Three Lanes and Seven Alleys"(Three Lanes and Seven Alleys)originates from its unique"fishbone-shaped"layout.With Nanhou Street as the central axis, three lanes extend westward in sequence:Yijin Lane,Wenru Lane, and Guanglu Lane;seven lanes extend eastward in depth:Yangqiao Lane,Langguan Lane,Ta Lane,Huang Lane,Anmin Lane,Gong Lane, and Jibi Lane. This layout, formed at the end of the Tang Dynasty, has remained unchanged for over a thousand years, serving as a living example of the ancient Chinese urban Lifang system.Winding stone paths, undulating saddle-shaped walls, and exquisitely carved doors and windows—every detail speaks to the profound cultural heritage of Fuzhou.

The Path of Protection—From Urban Development to the Relay of Cultural Heritage
The contemporary story of Three Lanes and Seven Alleys(Three Lanes and Seven Alleys)is a moving chapter about cherishing and passing on traditions:

Awakening to Protection(Early 1990s):Amidst the urban development boom, some buildings in Three Lanes and Seven Alleys faced demolition. Thanks to the attention and promotion of Xi Jinping, then Secretary of the Fuzhou Municipal Party Committee, this historical district was spared destruction, and a large number of cultural relics and historical sites have been preserved to this day.

Meticulous Restoration(From 2005 onwards):Adhering to the principle of"restoring the old as it was, maintaining the overall layout, style, and appearance of the lanes,"a"tinting,gradual,micro-circulation,small-scale,and uninterrupted"construction method was adopted, with a total investment of approximately 5 billion yuan and a total restoration area of260,000 square meters.

Revitalization(2022-Present):With the promulgation of the"Management Measures for the Revitalization and Utilization of Cultural Relics Buildings in Fuzhou,"Three Lanes and Seven Alleys has entered a new stage of cultural and tourism integration.New business formats such as the incorporation of intangible cultural heritage, immersive theaters, and trendy pop-up stores are constantly emerging, truly bringing cultural heritage to life.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
